This philosophy has led to the creation of the PLP range of natural refrigerant air-water units with inverter compressors. PLP's wide operating range and high performance under all operating conditions make it the ideal solution for phasing out the use of fossil fuels for heating and cooling buildings.

Technical characteristics

PLP is Galletti's new range of air-cooled monobloc chillers and heat pumps for outdoor installation, equipped with an inverter-driven modulating scroll compressor and featuring refrigerant R290. R290 (propane) is a natural refrigerant with a GWP of just 3, one of the lowest on the market. This GWP value ensures that the PLP range complies with the gradual reduction in greenhouse gas emissions mandated by F-GAS regulations.  

Additionally, using small-diameter finned coils for refrigerant flow decreases the required refrigerant charge by more than 50% compared to other products with similar power but standard technology.  

The range consists of 5 models with heating capacities ranging from 35 to 65 kW, available in cooling-only or reversible heat pump versions. In addition to adjusting the power output to the actual thermal load, the inverter controller also significantly reduces the electrical power consumption when the compressor starts up (reduction in starting currents) and during operation at partial loads. This makes it possible to achieve some of the highest seasonal efficiency ratings on the HVAC market: SCOP up to 4.50 and SEER up to 5.24.  

The use of top quality components at the cutting edge of technology in the cooling, hydraulic, and electrical systems makes PLP chillers state of the art in terms of efficiency, reliability, and operating limits. Thanks to scroll inverter technology combined with the use of propane as a refrigerant and innovative solutions developed by Galletti's Advanced Design Unit, the PLP range can produce hot water at very high temperatures (up to 80°C) and operate at full load even at extremely low outdoor temperatures (down to -20°C).  

This range offers high acoustic and hydraulic configurability. It has a wide range of accessories designed to meet installation requirements in limited spaces. It is possible to include a buffer tank and up to two hydraulic pumps on the unit without increasing its dimensions.  

The advanced controller, which is standard across the entire range, allows continuous monitoring of operating parameters, advanced adjustment and connectivity logics, and the management of advanced procedures to secure the unit in the event of refrigerant leakage (A3).

Inverter scroll compressor

Fourth-generation compressor with variable speed technology.

Electronic expansion valve

Standard electronic expansion valve, complete with dedicated software to monitor cooling load behavior in real time under all operating conditions. 

Plate heat exchanger

Brazed corrugated stainless steel plate heat exchanger designed to ensure optimal performance with natural refrigerant R290. 

Microchannel air-refrigerant heat exchanger

Microchannel heat exchanger made of Long Life Alloy for cooling-only versions. 
 
Compared to traditional coils, it reduces the refrigerant charge by more than 40%, contributing to a smaller environmental impact in line with Advanced Design principles. 

Integrated hydronic kit (optional)

Includes inertial buffer tank and hydraulic pumps to offer a complete, ready-to-install solution. 

Compact and efficient structure
